1. Installing ClickShield

Follow these steps to install ClickShield on your Wix site:

  • Go to the Wix App Market and search for ClickShield

  • Click Add to Site and select your Wix site

  • Click Agree & Add to accept the permissions

  • Once installed, ClickShield appears in your dashboard under Apps

  • Click Open to launch the ClickShield dashboard

ClickShield works on any Wix site no additional apps or setup required. The protection script installs automatically across every page; there's no widget to place or code to add.

2. Turning On Protection (Master Toggle)

  • Open the ClickShield dashboard

  • Under Protection Status, switch on Enable Content Protection

  • Click Save Settings

This master toggle controls all protection site wide. Turning it off immediately disables every protection below, without losing your individual settings, useful if you ever need to temporarily allow copying (for example, while you copy your own content).

3. Choosing What to Protect

Under What to Protect, turn on any combination of:

  • Disable right click menu: Prevents the context menu ("Save Image As," "Inspect," etc.) from appearing

  • Disable text selection: Prevents visitors from highlighting and copying text

  • Disable image drag: Prevents dragging images off the page to save them

  • Block keyboard shortcuts: Blocks F12, Ctrl+U (view source), Ctrl+S (save page), and Ctrl+Shift+I/J/C (developer tools)

Each protection can be turned on independently. For example, you can block right click and image dragging while still allowing visitors to select and copy text.

4. Customizing Notification Messages and Colors (Pro)

Under Notification Message, you can:

  • Turn on Show notification when protection triggers so visitors see a small message when a protection activates

  • Set a separate custom message for each trigger: right click, text selection, image drag, keyboard shortcuts, and mobile/touch long press

  • Set the message background color and message text color

  • Set the message duration in milliseconds (minimum 1000ms)

  • Optionally turn off "Protected by ClickShield" branding on the notification

The notification automatically matches your site's own font, so it looks like a native part of your site rather than an added plugin. Click Save Settings to apply.

5. Starting Your Free Trial or Upgrading to Pro

ClickShield includes a 14-day free trial with full access to every feature.

  • Open the ClickShield dashboard

  • Under Your Plan, click Start Your Free Trial

  • No charge until the trial ends cancel anytime before then from your Wix billing page with nothing billed

Once your trial starts (or after you upgrade), every setting on the dashboard becomes active and editable immediately. Before starting a trial or upgrading, settings are visible but grayed out so you can see exactly what you'll get.

After the trial, ClickShield continues at $1/month. If you don't upgrade, protection pauses automatically until you do your settings are kept, not deleted.

6. Turning Off a Protection

  • Open the ClickShield dashboard

  • Switch off any individual protection under What to Protect, or switch off Enable Content Protection to disable everything at once

  • Click Save Settings

Changes take effect on your live site as soon as they're saved.

7. Troubleshooting Common Issues

Right click (or another protection) isn't working on my live site

  • Confirm Enable Content Protection and the specific protection are both switched on, then click Save Settings

  • Make sure your Wix site has been published after saving

  • Confirm your trial has started or your plan is active, protection is paused automatically if neither applies

  • Clear your browser cache and reload the page

The notification message isn't showing

  • Confirm Show notification when protection triggers is switched on

  • Confirm the relevant protection (right click, text selection, etc.) is switched on, the notification only appears when a protection actually blocks something

  • Check that Message duration isn't set too low

Settings saved in the dashboard aren't reflected on my live site

  • Make sure you clicked Save Settings after making changes

  • Confirm your site is published

  • Refresh the live page as some browsers cache the previous version briefly

The app is not appearing in my dashboard

  • Go to your Wix site dashboard → Apps → Manage Apps

  • Check that ClickShield is listed and not paused or disabled

  • If it does not appear, reinstall from the Wix App Market

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ClickShield stop all content theft? ClickShield blocks the casual, one-click ways of copying content right click, text selection, image dragging, common keyboard shortcuts, and mobile long-press. Can I use different messages for different types of protection? Yes. Right click, text selection, image drag, keyboard shortcuts, and mobile long-press each have their own customizable message.

What happens if I don't upgrade after my free trial? Protection pauses automatically your site stops being protected, but none of your settings are lost. Upgrading at any point reactivates everything exactly as you left it.
