Troubleshooting common issues
1. Installing GiveMore
Follow these steps to install GiveMore on your Wix site:
Go to the Wix App Market and search for GiveMore
Click Add to Site and select your Wix site
Click Agree & Add to accept the permissions
GiveMore requires Wix Stores to be installed on the site, since donations are added as an order line item
Once installed, GiveMore appears in your dashboard under Apps
Click Open to launch the GiveMore dashboard
The dashboard opens to a Help & FAQ tab by default, with setup guidance and support details.
2. Setting Up Your First Campaign
Open the GiveMore dashboard and go to Settings & Configuration
Enter your cause name and a short description
Set your three preset donation amounts — shoppers can also enter a custom amount at checkout
Switch on Active to make the campaign live
Click Save
Shoppers see the preset amounts as buttons in the checkout donation box, plus a field for a custom amount. Selecting an amount adds a "Donation — [cause name]" line item to their order.
3. Choosing Where the Widget Appears
Under Settings & Configuration, use the Show on dropdown
Choose All checkouts, or select specific checkout types
GiveMore works across Stores, Bookings, and Events checkouts
Click Save
4. Adding a Fundraising Goal, Cause Image, and Learn More Link
Under Settings & Configuration, add a goal amount
Upload a cause image from the Media Manager
Add a learn more link if you want shoppers to read more about the cause
Save your changes
Once a goal is set, a progress bar appears on the widget and automatically reflects a goal reached state once the target is hit.
5. Adding a Donor Note Field
Under Settings & Configuration, switch on Ask donor for a note
Set a custom note field label — for example, a GST number or a reimbursement reference
Click Save
The note field is optional for shoppers and appears beneath the donation amount fields at checkout.
6. Setting Your Currency
Under Settings & Configuration, open the Currency dropdown
Select the currency your store actually charges in from the full list
Click Save
Currency is selected manually — GiveMore doesn't auto-detect your store's currency. The number you enter for presets and goals isn't converted, only labeled, so make sure it matches what you actually intend to charge.
7. Customizing Round-Up, Accent Color, and Thank-You Message
Under Settings & Configuration, switch on Enable round-up to let shoppers round their donation up to the nearest dollar
Set a custom accent color to match your site's branding
Write a custom thank-you message, shown once a donation is added to the cart
Optionally turn off "Powered by GiveMore" branding on the widget
Click Save
8. Confirming Donations and Viewing Analytics
Some payment methods don't confirm instantly, so donations are reviewed and manually confirmed before they count toward totals:
Open the Analytics & Approvals tab
Under Donations awaiting confirmation, review pending donations — sort and page through the list as needed
Confirm each donation once payment is verified
Once confirmed, donations count toward:
Total raised and donation count, filterable by all-time or a specific month and year
A six-month chart showing confirmed totals by month
9. Starting Your Free Trial or Upgrading to Pro
GiveMore includes a 14-day free trial with full access to every Pro feature.
Open the GiveMore dashboard
Under Your Plan, click Start Your Free Trial
No charge until the trial ends — cancel anytime before then from your Wix billing page with nothing billed
After the trial, GiveMore continues with pro plan. There's no free tier — if you don't upgrade after your trial, the donation widget stops appearing at checkout and the dashboard locks behind an upgrade prompt. Your campaign and settings are kept, not deleted, so everything picks back up as soon as you upgrade.
10. Turning Off GiveMore
Open the GiveMore dashboard
Go to Settings & Configuration and switch off Active to stop the widget from appearing at checkout
Click Save
Turning off a campaign doesn't delete your settings or past donation data — you can reactivate it at any time.
11. Troubleshooting Common Issues
The donation box isn't showing at checkout
Confirm your campaign is switched Active under Settings & Configuration
Confirm the current checkout type is included in your Show on setting
Make sure your site has been published after saving
Confirm Wix Stores is installed on the site
Analytics show $0 or don't match what I've received
Confirm the relevant donations have been manually confirmed under Analytics & Approvals
Analytics only count confirmed/completed orders, not abandoned carts
Check that you're viewing the correct month/year filter, or switch to all-time
The currency shown doesn't match my store
Open Settings & Configuration and confirm the correct currency is selected from the dropdown
Currency is manual only — update it directly rather than expecting auto-detection
The dashboard is locked behind an upgrade prompt
This means your trial hasn't started yet, or has ended, and your Pro subscription isn't active — GiveMore has no free tier
Start your trial or upgrade from Your Plan to unlock the dashboard and reactivate the checkout widget
Frequently Asked Questions
Does GiveMore redirect shoppers to a separate donation page? No. The donation box is embedded directly in checkout — shoppers select an amount or enter a custom one without leaving the page.
Can I run more than one campaign at a time? GiveMore supports one active campaign per site. Contact support if you need guidance on managing multiple causes.
Does a promo code affect the donation amount? Product-scoped coupons don't apply to the donation line item, since it isn't tied to a catalog item. An order-wide coupon can still proportionally reduce it like any other line item, though GiveMore's own reporting always credits the donor's originally entered amount.
What happens if I don't upgrade after my free trial? The donation widget stops appearing at checkout and the dashboard locks behind an upgrade prompt — GiveMore has no free tier. None of your settings or campaign data are lost, and upgrading at any point picks up exactly where you left off.
